The Academy Barons took on the Thousand Oaks Conejo Oaks on Saturday July 25, 2009 at George Anderson Field on the campus of Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The starting line up for the Barons consisted of

Starting pitcher- J.R. Bromberg (3-4) pitched 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He finished his outing with 0 strikeouts and 6 walks. He got the loss, which gives him a record of 3-4.
Closing pitcher- Shuhei Fujiya (2-0) pitched the last inning of the game, allowing 0 runs on 0 hits, and recorded 2 strikeouts.
Jarred Frierson had an AMAZING game at the plate. He was 2 for 2 with 1 double, 1 stolen base, 1 RBI and was hit by the pitch once.
Freddy Antuna and Dimitri De La Fuente each contributed a double to the contest. They were both 1 for 3 in the game.

The Barons are currently ( 10 - 25 ) overall and ( 8 - 17 ) in the California Collegiate League.
The last games of the season are set for Tuesday July 28, 2009 and Wednesday July 29, 2009 both start times are 7:00pm vs the Thrashers.
Come join us on Wednesday….its FAN & PLAYER APPRECIATION DAY!!! The National Anthem will be sung by Barons’ right hand pitcher BRAULIO ARCHER. The Barons will also stick around after the games to talk to the kids in attendance as well as sign autographs. Fan booklets with player profiles and pictures will be provided to the fans in attendance!
